2 weeks

I can't believe it our baby girl is already 2 weeks old! Time is already flying by and I am just trying to enjoy every single moment. This has been a really good week :) Monday we went for Madelyn's 2 week check up. FINALLY she has been gaining weight like a champ and is up from 5 pounds 6 ounces to 5 pounds 13 ounces. She has been a real champ having to wake up to eat every 2 hours and I am so proud of her! The doctor said we can let her sleep in 4 hour increments through the night now, and even though I know she won't do that right away at least we can work toward it now. Also she grew a little over an inch from birth. Everything else checked out good and I was a happy mommy! Then Tuesday we had to go to the audiologist. I was very nervous. The other thing worrying me so much about Madelyn (which I can talk about now comfortably) is that in the hospital she failed her hearing screening. At the time we were devastated. I didn't want to think about my baby having to go through life with that kind of struggle even though I knew I could handle it. I just want everything to be perfect for her...but she was rescreened yesterday and she passed :) I haven't felt that relieved in a long time.
I am really enjoying having our little family at home and spending so much time together. The lack of sleep isn't easy but Andy is really a big help to me and I am just soaking up every minute that I get because they already are going so fast...
Auntie Amy came by to visit yesterday and that was fun, she always knows how to make me laugh. Today we have been just taking it easy. It is a really nice day out but I'm still not very comfortable taking the little one out in public so we are just going to enjoy the sun through the windows :) Her cord finally fell off a couple days ago and it is making bath time much easier so I think that's what's in store for this evening!
Clyde is doing really good with Madelyn around. He follows her everywhere in the house. If one of us moves upstairs with her, so does he. If she is fussing he comes over to sniff her like he's trying to see what's wrong. We are very happy with the relationship he is developing with her.
I would be 38 weeks pregnant right now if she hadn't come a little early. I would still be working and the thought of that is just crazy to me! I am so glad I have had these extra few weeks to spend with her :)
