things to remember

...for when she's a 2 year old who says "I don't love you," a 10 year old who is embarassed to have me hug her in front of her friends, a teenager who doesn't want to talk to me period, an adult who forgets to call...

(and hopefully she will never be any of those and will remain my little girl forever)

My daughter twisting her hand in my shirt or my hair as she holds onto me

Laughing and giggling as I make funny faces or tickle her

Smiling up at me while I nurse her at bedtime

All the smiles she gives each morning and especially when we tell her good morning for the first time

How she loves to cuddle ALL the time

Her splashes and smiles in the tub

Her look of "what on earth?" when we blow raspberries on her tummy

Her trying to blow raspberries herself, often resulting in drool going all over us

The happy smile she gives daddy every time she sees him

Watching her move her little lips and tongue trying to imitate every sound we make

Singing songs together while we get ready for bedtime

Holding her so peacefully as she sleeps at night

Her babbles into the monitor when I think she's asleep

The look of triumph as she conquers a new milestone - and then immediately smiling at us to share that triumph

Even the way she cries and reaches out to grab me when she wakes up at night

Her wonderment as daddy holds her up to things and she tries to grab them with her hand

Her softness, happiness, peacefulness, sense of wonder, love.
