2 months

Our sweet baby girl turned 2 months old on December 10th! I can not believe how fast time is flying by...we had her two month check up and everything looked awesome. She is up to 8 lbs 3 ozs in weight and 21.25 inches in length. She is still low in the percentiles, but following her curve very nicely. I am so proud of how much she is growing and learning every day. The bedtime routine is going much smoother now and we pretty much have it down :) Last week I put her in her crib to relax and she fell asleep. She never sleeps in there, but I decided to leave her there to see what would happen and she slept for 5 hours. Needless to say, she has been sleeping in her crib ever since that day. I can usually count on a 4-5 hour stretch, up for an hour, and then another 3 hour stretch of sleeping. I can't ask for much more!
We took her last week to get her pictures taken. I was so excited to have this done and had built in my mind how perfect it would go...big mistake. My child that seriously rarely ever cries just wasn't feeling the camera or something. When we got there she had just fallen asleep. Taking her out of her car seat woke her up and she began screaming. We tried everything and were having a really hard time getting her calmed down. She was quiet for about 10 minutes, enough to get a few good pictures but nothing like I had planned. Oh well, I will take her back in a couple months. I felt horrible for the photographer and to top it all off she got so worked up she spit up all over their couch :( They seemed pretty understanding though.
St. Nick came on the night of December 5th and brought us things for our stockings. Madelyn has a pretty new pink stocking that mommy bought for her. St. Nick put a really cool new toy in it called Violet. Violet hooks into the computer and we can program Madelyn's name and favorite things so Violet has the same favorites :) It is adorable when it says her name!
This has been a week full of activities! Monday we went to Paw Creek so we could visit mommy's old work friends. Madelyn was really good the whole time and I was so excited to share her with the world. Tuesday I took her to get her ears pierced! I debated it for awhile, but decided in the end I wanted to get it done. My mom did mine when I was very little and I am glad she did. I figured it was do them now or wait until she was old enough to decide she wanted them and understand that they needed to be cleaned and taken care of. From my experience piercing ears for several years, it is just easier to do it when they're a baby. She did so good too! She cried for less than 30 seconds and then was smiling and back to sleep. She is precious with her new little earrings in.
We have a VERY busy few weeks coming up! My parents are all coming tomorrow, and then Andy's parents are coming after Christmas. Madelyn will get lots of time with her grandparents and I'm sure lots of spoiling. We are so so so excited to spend Christmas in our house!
